I thought I’d share some quotes about worrying, just because I’m hearing lots of worrying these days. I’ll be completely honest. Many of these I’ve used so many times and for so long that I don’t even know where they came from, so I can’t give a righteous attribution. I’m sorry, but I’m not gonna worry about it.
Worry just pretends to be useful.
Your brain thinks that by worrying, it’s actually doing something about a problem. It’s not.
Worrying is using your imagination to create something you don’t want.
Even though Patsy Cline knew she was Crazy, she still asked herself, “Worry. Why do I let myself worry?”
Worrying doesn’t do anything about tomorrow’s troubles. It just steals today’s peace.
Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” Leo Buscaglia
Don’t worry, be happy.
“There were many terrible things in my life and most of them never happened.” Michel de Montaigne
“Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it never gets you anywhere.” Erma Bombeck (probably from an old Reader’s Digest magazine!)
“Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing gonna be alright.” three little birds
In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!
Love, and light in the shadows,
Maggie
Oh. I almost forgot. “What, me worry?” Alfred E. Neuman
