a colorful new

I started a new part-time job about a month ago from the time I’m writing this. It’s such a great reminder of so many things.

New is scary. I haven’t mastered new yet. (yellow)

New is accepting that I don’t have it all mastered and being okay with making mistakes. (pink)

New is fun. It’s interesting. It’s not boring. It’s not the same old same old. (My fingers really wanted to type “same old lame old” but I didn’t let them.) (more yellow)

New is fulfilling because you get to mark your progress and establish your rhythms, routines, and habits. (red)

New builds confidence. I may not know how to do everything (yet) but I know how to find out and figure out and ask and learn. (gold)

New is community. I get to bring new people into my world, and I get to enter theirs. We begin to matter to each other. (coral)

New is eye-opening and expansive. I’m growing. (green) I see things I never even thought about – especially the details. (magenta) And then caring about those things that are new to your awareness (more pink!)

New is changing things up and becoming a slightly different person because of it. (violet)

New is bringing my creativity (turquoise) and passion (red) and experience (olive) and clarity (clear) into a new arena.

New is learning how things work: who does what and why. (blue)

New is trusting my inner wisdom that I have something to offer. (gold)

New is trusting my higher power that I’m in the right place, even if it’s uncomfortable (royal blue)

I guess I could say that new is pretty colorful.

In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!

Maggie
