I’m always expecting another miracle

I always say that we should expect a miracle. I made that a foundation principle of my coaching many years ago.

What does that mean though, really?

What is a miracle?

My original view of a miracle was that we really only understand them after they occur. A miracle is something that happens even though we have no idea how to make it happen. After it happens, we can look back at it and say “Oh, that’s how it happened. Of course!” And it’s still miraculous.

My expanded view a miracle isn’t just getting what we think we want. It’s so much more.

A miracle is a change inside us. It can be a change in how we see (someone, something or a situation). It can be a change in how we feel about things. It can be letting go, forgiveness or reprioritizing.

Sometimes the change inside is accompanied by a change outside – someone is healed, safe, more secure, relieved, happier, calmer or the like.

Why should we expect miracles? Because they happen all around us. If we expect them, we’re more likely to see them. We are entitled to miracles. Everyone is.

Here’s another thing I know: miracles always involve love.

Now that I’m officially a Miracle-Minded Coach, I must take these miracle things seriously. I mean, it’s my job! Okay, not serious seriously, like all somber and shit… no, with joy and light and even laughter. I have to be able to see miracles when they happen. I need to be able to envision them for my clients, even if they can’t yet.

It’s my job to expect miracles. How cool is that?

I’m really glad…because we need miracles – lots of miracles. I don’t know how they could possibly happen. What will they look like…how will we fix all the problems…how can we get everything done? I don’t know. It’s not my job to know.

Again, it’s my job to expect miracles. How cool is that?

In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!

Love and light,
