Celebrating 200 with seeds and starts

This is my 200th weekly blog post.

I’d been writing them randomly before, so I’m only counting the ones that have been in this weekly rhythm. They started out as little Tapas word bites. The topics have meandered as my attention veers, the seasons turn and the moon and the sun both rise (but not at the same time).

It’s been quite something to have that commitment: to show up every week, take it seriously and write something, to set my head and heart in the space that it needs to be to write to you.

It’s late spring as I write this, early summer as you read it, so it’s prime garden planting season. I’ve been planting seeds and starts.

In celebration of #200, I want to just share some seeds and starts of a different kind. Maybe they’ll grow into future posts. Maybe they’ll bloom in your mind or heart. Who knows? They’re gloriously haphazard, so we are not gonna end up with a formal French garden.

I’d rather live on Simple Street than Drama Drive.

Keep going until you get where you want to go.

When in doubt, learn something. If still in doubt, do something for someone else.

The phrase “lady boss” pretty much sums up the subconscious influence of the patriarchy.

Touch the doorway as you enter your home to consciously leave outside things behind.

No blamethrower required. Ever.

The more you say something, the more real it becomes. This works for good and for bad, so pick your words with care.

Changing my mind is not a contradiction. It’s growth. It’s adaptation.

The best way to heal the timeline is to retell the story of your past where you are on the hero’s journey.

Why kill two birds with one stone when you could feed 5 with a handful of seeds?

I love to visualize having my own tap root – like a big, strong tree – that goes deep into the earth, feeding and grounding me.

Live music is coming back. Live music is coming back. Live music is coming back!

In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!

Love and light,

Maggie
